The Problem
E-mail takes too long to respond to, resulting in continuous inbox overflow for those who receive a lot of it. This year, some suggest that this year email will take up to 41% of our time!

Anyone who spends that much time on email has poor self-discipline. (And i say this as someone who spends a *lot* of time on email.) Three sentence emails might be a start, but they are just one technique in a long list. Other suggestions:
- Read David Allen’s “Getting Things Done”
- Reduce the time between checks of your email. I used to check every 3-5 minutes. That’s just a recipe for interruptions. My email is currently set to check only hourly, and i benefit a lot from the extra focus.
There are plenty of other ways, but the main thing is *having a plan*.
