17FebneoLeader Networks

Our passion at neoLeader is to develop Christian leaders wherever we can. We firmly believe that Christian leaders are needed to grow our churches and change our society. Without leaders, we can’t make the impact God wants.

So far we have mainly provided web-based resources that help you better understand leadership and ministry. In 2008, we also ran a neoLeader weekend retreat for younger leaders.

Now we’re moving to the next phase. We think that leadership develops best when leaders have a chance to share their thoughts and lives with other leaders, with some more experienced leaders around to provide reflection. This means that we want to intentionally build networks with younger leaders and mentors.

We have already done this effectively with networks of younger pastors and younger senior pastors. Now we would like to develop a similar thing in churches.

Bridgeman and City Life churches have put up their hands to lead the way. They are establishing networks of younger leaders and mentors and we are providing resources and support. neoLeader networks will probably have 5-10 people and will meet six to ten times a year.

The resources we offer to networks will include a meeting format, input material, discussion questions, and some support for mentors.

We will also organise two neoLeader day-conferences designed to equip and network younger leaders from churches in the south-east corner of Queensland. The first of these conferences is on Saturday 9 May at Bridgeman Baptist. We are expecting 200 leaders between the ages of 16 and 30, as well as their mentors.

If you are interested in exploring a young leaders network at your church, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    Hi there, John!
We spoke briefly last year about mentoring prior to a trip to the States to discuss ideas with interested people with a view of developing a programme to affirm mentors,(included in that was some of your material). Since then progress has been healthy but slower than hoped for, mainly due to the time commitment.
I am thrilled to hear that you have the support of two churches to move forward with phase two of neoleader, which already has much momentum. I would be very interested to be involved as a mentor and bring young leaders from Capernwray.
Would you be interested in hearing where we are with our programme to see if some of our ideas may be useful with where you are going? Please let me know and keep me posted on the developments.
    STEVE

Yes I would be very interested Steve. We see neoLeader as a resource for anyone interested in leadership development. I’m not sure how much we can offer NSW, but I would love to hear what’s happened and explore options.
